thankful thursday!

In honor of Mother's Day coming up this weekend, I am dedicating today's thankful thursday to Mama! She is truly the best mother in the world! She raised six daughters in this crazy world, and all most of us turned out just fine!  (just kidding sisters!)

Mama's Birthday '05 (minus Courtney)

Growing up, I thought I had the strictest mother on the planet!  When I was in 6th grade, Mama wouldn't let me go to a party where they were going to watch a PG movie (Curly Sue!) apparently because of the language.  I was never allowed to go anywhere without calling her and telling her where I was every step of the way.  If it was a party, the parents had to be home...and yes, sometimes she would call and check!  I was not allowed to drive anyone in my car unless she knew who they were and where we were going.  One day I was driving a friend home from school (without Mama's permission) and she just happened to see me driving by...the big car phone rang two seconds later, and I was busted!  (The other two times that I drove friends without permission, I ran into Mama as well!  Awful luck!)
Needless to say, I was not very fond of her being so strict!

Christmas '05

Now that I am a mama myself, I pray that I can be as wonderful of a mother as she was and is to me.  I am so thankful that she cared about me enough to be so strict.  She was also very loving and raised me to go to church every Sunday and have faith no matter what!
Now that I am a mama myself, I call my mother nearly everyday just to talk or to get advice about one thing or another...

Mother's Day '09

Now that I am a mama myself, I understand why my mother may seem like she has lost her mind sometimes.  She may tell me the same story 5 times in one day, and then forget to tell me something important because she has retold one of my other sisters the story 5 times already...

Mother's Day '05

Now that I am mama myself, I truly appreciate everything my mother has done for me.  I appreciate her advice, her sense of humor, her strong faith, her wonderful singing voice, her compassion, her hugs (she has to hug and kiss both sides when we are leaving each other!), and especially her unconditional love.

Thank you Mama for being the best at what you do.  I hope that I can be half the mother to Baby W that you are to me (and my sisters)!

Great post! Except although Mama may seem like she has lost her mind at times, that's not because she raised all of us, it's because she's married to DADDY! Trust me, she would agree, 100%! :)

Heyy girly! So apparently the post office lost your package.... SORRY! I was there for 3 hours fighting with them this morning. On any note could you send me your address again and I will go to a different post office to mail out your package.

Thanks
