Tuesday's Tip: What the Flip?!

So most of you have already heard of the Flip Video.  I would highly recommend one to anyone!! They are so easy to use and they plug straight into your computer for easy upload!  We got one last December to record many of Little Man's precious moments!  We have used it so much since we have had it.  I have over a hundred videos of him doing the cutest things.  We first used it to capture his first laugh when he was 3 months old!

Sadly, after we went to the beach this summer, our Flip screen did not show a picture.  I think some sand may have found its way into the camera.  So for the past couple of months we have had to just aim where we think is the right place to film.  The image and sound still show up fine when we plugged it in to our computer, but we just can't see the picture when we are actually recording.

Now, Flip videos have almost doubled in price since we bought ours!  But, I convinced the mister that we needed a new one!  So I ordered one from Wal-Mart.com the other day, and the new one should be here this week!  So excited!!

We have still taken videos nonetheless, but the aim isn't that great.

Here is one of the latest videos.  Please excuse my "Mama" voice.  This is Little Man dancing to the video game music, clapping, saying "yay," and saying "bye!"  He always hears me say "Love you too," when I am getting off the phone...so he knows the next word is bye...which is so evident in the video :)

Again, that was video game music from the Wii...not what we normally have playing :)

Happy Tuesday!

Monday Message: The Light of the World

God is our light.  He is the source of our strength as Christians.  It is our job to reflect His light to the world!

Happy Monday!

Cleaning up and cleaning out!

Last night I started my cleaning out process.  Awhile back I wrote about wanting to rid our house of all the things that are just sitting there!  I went through 4 of my bedroom drawers last night and got rid of over 50 clothing items...mainly t-shirts and workout gear.  (I kept 37 t-shirts by the way!)  Crazy!  But it feels good to start the process.  I actually wear t-shirts a lot! I wear them to work out in, to sleep in, and to lounge around the house...so I go through them pretty quick.  I only kept the ones I actually wear and 2 that I just couldn't throw out even though I don't wear them.  Many of the shirts had memories, but we are only in this world for a little while, and I don't need to linger over and clutter up my house over t-shirts with memories!

Stuff I'm getting rid of:

T-shirt Drawer for Keeps:
(yes, this is how it always looks-thanks to my older sister for teaching me how to fold them!)

Today, my plan is to clean out my closet!  I am getting rid of stuff that I haven't worn in awhile and stuff that I know I won't wear again.  I will probably try to sell the nicer items on E-bay or maybe a blog sale, and the other items will go to Goodwill!  I am also going to try to clean out the drawers in the spare bedroom... I know I have at least two more drawers full of t-shirts in there, along with winter sweaters and most of the summer clothes I couldn't fit into last year because I was pregnant!

My other plans are to dust and vaccuum the whole house!

If I get all this done, it will be a miracle!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Thankful Thursday: A Little Extra Income

So last week, the children's director at my church called and told me that they needed two helpers in the preschool during the week.  I gladly accepted the job of helping out in the 2 year old class on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  My Little Man gets to go for FREE on those days--otherwise, it wouldn't be worth me working.  The mister is going to keep Little Man at home tomorrow on his day off, but starting on Tuesday, he will be joining the one year old class!  We are happy about the little bit of extra money that will be coming in, and thankful that Little Man will get to have some interaction with other kids his age!

A couple of pictures from visiting the great-grandparents last week:

I would love to win this!

Grosgrain is having a wonderful giveaway!  I have become much more crafty as a stay-at-home mama, and there is no way I could afford this on my own...but I would LOVE to have one.

The giveaway is for a Silhouette Machine!!

I really want to win, but good luck to you too! :)

Wordless Wednesday: Monthly Pictures

Okay, so this isn't going to be completely wordless.  Putting together this post almost made me cry!  I cannot believe how fast Little Man has grown (yeah yeah, I know I've said that at least a thousand million times!)  It really does happen entirely too fast.  Looking at the pictures from his day of birth, it seems like it was just the other week, yet here he is...the happiest, most loving, friendliest, snuggliest (let's just say that's a word), cutest, huggable, wonderful baby boy that is almost a year old.  How does it happen so fast?! Yes, I am ready for another one (the mister isn't quite there yet), but I simply don't see how I will be able to feel all of this stuff about another baby!  No baby can compare to my Little Man!  That being said, here are pictures from his monthly birthdays...I have done this before, but felt it was time again!

Tuesday's Tip for New Mamas: Boy Toys!

For all of you Mama's of boys...did you ever have this problem?  From pretty early on, many times when we change Little Man's diaper, he reaches down to play with his...well, you know!  Sometimes, he would get really mad and aggressive when we stopped him! I asked the doctors about it, and they would say, "Well, he's just a boy, and they start early!"  He's definitely not as bad about it as he once was, but we always make sure to have a couple toys on hand for him to play with during diaper changing time to distract him from his other "toys."

Some of the toys we keep on hand are:

Rattles:

His bathtime letters to chew on:

And his favorite set of keys:
Some Mama's I've talked to never really had this problem with their sons, and others say that it started early and has never stopped!  :)

Monday Message: Baby Dedication

Yesterday, The Mister, Little Man (Baby W's new blog name!), and I went to Little Man's cousin Seth's baby dedication!  We left on Saturday because we spent the night at Papa and Grandmama's house.  On the way, I realized I had forgotten Little Man's Sunday clothes, so because we were going shopping anyway, I had a good excuse to get a new outfit for him! :)

Grandmama told us to check out Hamrick's because they sometimes have good sales with the baby clothes.  She was right! It was very successful.  I bought Little Man an adorable Seersucker suit that was 50% off, and decided to buy one for Seth too!

Seth's dedication was wonderful.  He is a beautiful baby boy with two wonderful parents who are doing a great job of raising him!!

Happy Monday!

11 months old!

I think it's time to retire the nickname "Baby W."  As of yesterday, he is 11 months old, and no longer a "baby." At his allergist appointment a couple days ago, he stood on the scale and weighed 23 pounds! Any suggestions for his blog nickname??  I was thinking about "Mister W."  His Papa calls him "Little Man," which is cute too.  Other suggestions?

What he's loving at 11 months:
To crawl fast and all over the place!
The hall nightlight.  If we forget to take it out during the day, he crawls straight for it and pulls it out of the wall!
To tilt his head side to side with anyone who is watching him.
To click his tongue.
To clap his hands (on command!)
To turn on and off the light switches.
He says "Bye Bye" and waves his hand.  He sometimes waits until the person is out the door, but today when we were at my in-laws, I took my keys out of my purse and he immediately said "Bye Bye" and started waving!
The air condition vents and the blinds.
To help me type on my computer.
To watch us kick our feet up in the air when we're laying down.
He says "Book" without the "k" sound on the end.  He loves reading books!
To try and help me close the garage door when we are coming inside.
To eat anything and everything.  He likes all of his baby food and his puffs.
To open the cabinets in the kitchen.
He stood on his own for a little while.  If he figures out he's doing it on his own, he immediately plops down.
He also has 3 teeth now on the bottom, and it looks like his two front teeth aren't far from coming in!
Caught him in the middle of a yawn :)

I know this next month will have lots in store for us!  Maybe some more talking...maybe some walking! AH!

Happy Weekend! :)

Tasty Thursday: Feta and Spinach Stuffed Chicken!

So, I am continuing to try out the whole cooking thing!  When sister #5 visited this past weekend, we wanted to make something delicious and nutritious for my mister and her date.  We got the recipe from Gina at skinnytaste.com.  For the recipe, click here!

Cooking the filling:

Putting the filling in:

We only had colorful toothpicks, which I wouldn't recommend!

If you look closely, the colorful toothpicks left a nice tint to our chicken once they were removed :)

We also made a nutritious Key Lime Pie for dessert:
We used the recipe on the inside of the reduced fat Graham Cracker Crust!

Baby W is 11 months old today! I cannot believe it.  Party planning is underway!

Happy Thursday! :)
