Wordless Wednesday: A White Christmas (or day after)

Most of these pictures are pleasant of the day after Christmas, however I need to warn you...the last picture is not appropriate and simply demonstrates what happens when an innocent person becomes the victim of a prank!  I thought about not posting it, but it shows my crazy family!  Look at your own risk!

I'm not a big fan of the cold, but I didn't want to miss out on the snow too much!  I helped with the base of the snowman!

Our snowman...don't think we had a carrot... (and warning...the next picture is the last picture!)

Sweet CoCo (sister #3) was innocently making a snow angel, when Evil sister #6 strategically placed two oranges and a banana that were originally intended for the snowman in the...well you see the picture!

HTT: New Year Project (and family Christmas pics!)

Link up with Shannon and Daphne!

Our FROG (Finished Room Over Garage) is going to be our remodel project for the new year! I am hoping it will be checked off the list by the end of February if not sooner!  Right now it stays cold and houses stuff we aren't using at the moment (including our Elliptical)!  When it's done...the elliptical will be in use, and I should have a workspace for my etsy shop!

As you can see, it is filled with lots of stuff that we could be using!  There are two desks, a loveseat (to the left), a chair and a half with ottoman (to the right), a twin bed in the back, a bookshelf, the elliptical, a tv and tv stand (in the front right...not visible in the picture), and plenty of other stuff that needs to find a proper storage home!  I'm hoping we get this thing knocked out soon!

More Christmas!

We went to the Christmas Eve service at our church this year.  Usually we rush off to either my family or our in-laws after the service, but this year we decided to stay home!  Little Man was able to play downstairs during the service.

We mainly used the video camera on Christmas morning, but I did get a picture of the aftermath.  Santa brought Little Man lots of books, a toy helicopter, a chalkboard with letters and numbers, racecars that spin, and a few other things!  He had lots of fun seeing his new toys!

We also had a surprise visit from the in-laws!  They showed up 5 minutes before we went in to get Little Man and shared in his Christmas morning experience!

Once we were packed, we headed to Charlotte to spend time with my family.
Here we are with sisters 3, 4, and 5!

This is my parents after they opened the present the mister and I gave them.
It's a painting of their house.  They moved in May 1990, and are set on moving sometime in the near future.  So this will be a reminder of our old house! (maybe they'll stay there awhile longer though!)

Later Christmas night...the snow began to fall!!
More snow pictures tomorrow!

Happy Tuesday y'all!!

Monday Message: Now is the Time!

So that sounds kinda cliche...but now is truly the time to make the changes we want to make!  As I said the other day, I am so ready for a new year and new adventures!  I can't wait to see what 2011 has in store for our family!

This week I will be recapturing the past week of Christmas and New Years!  Hope y'all all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's celebration!

Christmas with Papa and Bippie!

I seriously wrapped most of the presents, but left my mother-in-law's present to the mister.  He is a scrap saver and he proved it by this wrapping job!
Yes...that's a gift bag on the corner right there!  The most creative wrapping award goes to the mister!

On the way, we visited my grandparents.  Little Man loves his great-grandpa!!

and his great-grandma!

My grandfather makes the best cheesestraws every year, and Little Man is just like his Mama...he can't resist them!  He would have one in each hand, and when I went to eat one, he wanted mine too!

When we arrived at Papa and Bippie's house, the mister's cousin came over to give Little Man a present. He loves her so much!  Can you tell?

Bippie loved feeding Little Man bananas.  And he loved eating them!  I think he finished it in 5 bites!

After a wonderful dinner, we all gathered to open presents!  Little Man and Cousin S got to go first!

They loved all their presents (clothes, a See-N-Say, the Bible) but their favorite was the Leap Frog Train!  Little Man goes around the house now saying, "All Aboard!" as loud as he can!

We had so much fun spending time with our family!!  We spent the night and the next morning, Little Man actually took his first official step!  We all saw it, but haven't seen another one yet!

Happy Monday Y'all!

Merry Christmas!!

Too bad, so sad!  I have recently seen a Santa sitting out by a tree full of colored lights on the same road as our church.  I thought...hmmm, that would be great, free pictures with Santa!! (since the mall here won't let us take our own pictures and charges $16 for the smallest package!)

So on our way to look at Christmas lights, we pass the tree and don't see Santa :(  Well, maybe he will be there on our way back...

We looked at the lights, and even got out at a couple of places:

On the way back, I thought, maybe there is a sign telling us why Santa is not there...Instead, this is the sign I found!
Maybe he is just really busy, or maybe he got sick.  But it was 60 degrees outside and so perfect for Santa time!

We stopped at a neighbor's house on the way home and took some photos with a not-so-real Santa:

Oh well, Little Man did sit on Santa's lap at the mall with no picture, and he wasn't even scared! Maybe next year we'll have proof...

We all know Santa isn't the real meaning of Christmas anyway!  I am blessed to have my Little Man and a wonderful family.  I am so grateful to have a warm home and the means to buy presents for those I love and those in need.  I am blessed, and it's all because of Jesus!

I am so excited to be able to go home and spend time with my sisters!  One of our Christmas traditions is to each stand up in front of the fireplace/mantle and answer questions about our year from our dad.  He videotapes us.  It is always so funny.  We usually start acting really crazy and shout out funny answers or run across the camera on another sister's turn to make them mad... After we answer our questions, we sing a Christmas carol and hang up our stocking.  Then when we finish, we all (parents included) sing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas!" to the camera.  It is so fun to watch them over the years!  I will definitely start this tradition when W can participate!

Hope y'all all have a wonderful, blessed, love-filled Christmas!  I am signing off until the New Year!
