17 months old!

Little Man is 17 months old today!

He is walking all over the place now, and I love it!  I just wish he would walk where I want him to walk and not everywhere else!

He is very active even in his sleep.  He sleep talks all the time and he will even sit up and laugh and kick and shake!  I will be asking the doctor if I have anything to worry about with this at his 18 month appointment!

He loves to laugh and is still the friendliest baby I know!  He says "Hey" to everyone that passes by and will walk up to anyone and let them hold him (especially grandpa-looking men) :)

He has a great vocabulary (similar to the last update) and he has started putting one sentence together...just "Hey Mama" or "Hey Dada."  He loves to say, "Wow!" and he is more familiar with identifying lots of items instead of just repeating them.  When we sing the alphabet, we pause for him to say, "G, P, and Me" at the end.  That's still his favorite song!

He has been eating much better, but I haven't really tried feeding him anything that I cook.  I still just make sure he gets a veggie, fruit, and meat at lunch and dinner.  His favorite meat right now is bologna, and peas are his veggie of choice. His favorite fruits are bananas and grapes. I know I need to get the courage to branch out soon.  We'll see!

These photos are from today at our church when we were returning from a walk.  We usually go walk near our church where there aren't as many hills as in our neighborhood!

Hope y'all are having a wonderful weekend.  We have had wonderful weather here and I hope it lasts til Spring!! No more cold weather please!! :)

Valentine's Day Surprise! (and pics of Little Man)

Since I have recently started working out more, the mister surprised me with a pink Nano for Valentine's Day!! I was so excited.  Now I just need some really good upbeat music for my workouts...any suggestions?!
Here's what I put on recently:

Lots of Black Eyed Peas
Show Me How You Burlesque (Christina Aguilera)
California Girls (Katy Perry)
Hey Ya! (OutKast)
Walking on Sunshine (Katrina and the Waves)
The Adventure (Angels and Airwaves)
Winner (Jamie Foxx/Justin Timberlake)
Here I Go Again (Whitesnake)
Only Girl in the World (Rihanna)
Dynamite (Taio Cruz)
Forget You (Glee Version)
Waka Waka (Shakira)
America Boy (Estelle)

I like pretty much anything but heavy metal, so any suggestions would be great!  Oldies are some of my favorites! (like Let's Hear it For the Boy from Footloose and Yes! from Dirty Dancing)

On Valentine's morning, Little Man had a playdate with a little girl from Bible Study.  They had fun playing together.  He is definitely getting to be a Ladies Man.  He has always been a flirt, but he kissed a girl 3 times on the playground today...and she kissed right back!  (By the way, he is SO much better on the playground at preschool.  If my class is out there at the same time, he'll come over and sit with me for a minute but go off and play on his own most of the time.)

The mister and I went out for a nice date to a restaurant that serves both Italian and Indo-Pak food.  I ate Eggplant Parmesan, and the mister ate Beef Curry with Cabbage.  Usually, the mister only gets Indian food when I'm not around...so this restaurant catered to both of us which was nice!  (It's called Danish's.)

Alright, get those workout songs suggestions coming!! Thanks! :)

Happy Thursday Y'all!

Recipe Challenge with Kitchen Belleicious!

I have joined Jessica at Kitchen Belleicious for Recipe Challenge 2011!
Everyone participating makes one new recipe each month of the year.

Finding something new to cook isn't the hard part for me...just actually cooking is :)

My new recipe for February is a Roasted Vegetable Sandwich!  I had one in a restaurant last year and loved it, and didn't think it would be too hard to do on my own...so I gave it a shot.

I looked through some recipes online, and then just picked and chose what I liked and used it!

1) First, I thinly sliced one zucchini, yellow squash, and a red pepper.
I left out what I wanted to use for my sandwich (the mister wouldn't eat this...so it's just for me!)

I put the rest up for another sandwich or recipe later this week...

2) I put the vegetables in a bowl and mixed them with a little bit of olive oil and roasted garlic.
3) Then I put them on a pan and put them in the oven for about 20-25 minutes on 450.

4) Meanwhile, I sliced ciabatta bread and toasted it in the toaster oven.

5) I put a light mayo and mustard mixture on the bread, put the veggies on, and then added havarti cheese.

6) I almost forgot to add spinach...but that was a much needed last ingredient!

7) This sandwich was delicious!! I will definitely be making one again soon!

All You Need Is LOVE! (and My Funny Valentine Photo Contest)

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Valentine's Day!

The mister and I are going out for a romantic dinner tonight (and maybe some shopping)!

This weekend, while the mister was away on a ski trip, Little Man and I visited my in-laws and went to a Valentine's Banquet at their church.  It was entertaining :)

The Bachelor: I Almost Won!

So I haven't watched The Bachelor since the season when Brad decided to not choose either woman.  I was mad!  But after hearing my sisters and friends talk about it (and hearing that sister #3 babysat one of the girl's daughter), I had to catch up on this season...

In my attempt to catch up, I watched three episodes back to back last night on Hulu while doing laundry before bed...

This may or may not have caused me to dream that I was actually a contestant on this season of the show.

I was with Brad and he told me that he knew he was going to pick me...HA!

I went back to the house and told the girls..."What am I going to do?  I was just playing the game?! I'M MARRIED ALREADY!"  I was completely freaking out.

Definitely woke up laughing this morning...Phew! Thank goodness it was all a dream...

{semi} Wordless Wednesday: Go Heels!

Tonight is a big game for my college team, the UNC Tarheels!  We play my mister's team, the Duke Blue Devils.

Little Man is definitely a Mama's boy, so naturally he will pull for my team!

It was hard to choose an outfit for him today...

I think this one will do just fine!

So happy to be a Tarheel!!

Happy Wednesday Y'all!
